Computation of zero-average index band-gap limits in Fibonacci metamaterial multilayers

We study the zero-average refractive index band gap in Fibonacci lattices that combine ordinary positive index materials and dispersive metamaterials. We show that the upper and lower limits of this band gap can be approximated by analytical expresions which not invoke the detailed structure of the multilayer.
