Resumen:
The living New World Monkeys, Infraorder Platyrrhini, are represented by sixteen genera in subfamilies and families which even today are disputed. Their interrelationships have been the subject of considerable debate, mainly because of the morphological diversity and the scarcity and fragmentary nature of the fossil record. However, in recent years, new fossil discoveries and studies of the existing evidence has led to considerable advances in our understanding of the platyrrine radiation.
