Resumen:
Electronic properties of atom-sized metal contacts have been a subject of many theoretical and experimental investigations. In the case of Pd, there seems to be a controversy on the characteristic conductance of Pd single atom contact (SAC). It has been found different results: no peak structures in the conductance histograms, a peak at 1G0, and a peak at 0.5G0. Either the presence of Hydrogen or the structure sensitivity of the conductance is claimed to partly dissolve this discrepancy. The aim of this work is to analyze a more basic physics related with the spin fluctuation effects on the conductance. By assuming Pd0 to Pd+ as the most probable conduction channel accordingly to the applied biases, a many-body calculation is proposed. We use a formalism of Green functions appropriate for non-equilibrium processes that incorporates the details of the atom-surface interaction.
