Resumen:
High Strength Steel Fiber Reinforced Concretes are new construction materials having high strength, fracture toughness and ductility and for this reasons they are more and more used in special structures. Although many aspects of their mechanical behavior have been investigated extensively, the strain rate effects and their influence on structural strength remain largely unknown. Consequently, many aspects related to the behavior under impact and blast loads aare still open. Although, some efforts have been focused on modelling HSSFRC under extreme actions, constitutive models that properly represent the material behavior under this kind of actions are still in development. The capability of RHT model to simulate HSSFRC under high strain rates is analyzed in this paper. The results of the numerical simulation of laboratory tests under high strength and field blast tests performed with AUTODYN are presented and compared with experimental results and numerical results obtained with a numerical model developed for research purposes. Some recommendations for the use of models originally developed for concrete to simulate HSSFRC under extreme actions are given as conclusions.
