The present work is focused on the study of waveactivity due to internal gravity waves as a functionof the polar vortex position using the RayleighLIDAR technique during the southern spring from2010-2015. These data are compared with satellitemeasurements provided by MLS, SABER andCOSMIC. The position of the polar vortex ischaracterized by the equivalent latitude andpotential vorticity for Río Gallegos, Argentina(51.5 S; 69.1 W).
