Resumen:
Annual variations of activities of 13 snake species from Argentina are described based on the analysis of 6838 records of arrivals to a serpentarium, in Córdoba, Argentina. Specimens were captured mainly by the rural population, who spontaneously send them to a serpentarium. We assume that the monthly rate of capture by rural dwellers is related with annual activity of each species; and we test for differences in number of snakes received among months. We clustered the species based on the similarity of number of specimens collected in each month and the following groups can be observed: a) unimodal, with a peak in spring and related with riparian environments; b) bimodal, related with species of mountain areas and c) unimodal with peak in autumn, related with a dry forests.
