Both species belong to the Brundin´s decarthrus group and were collected in an "orogenic island", representing the first record of formaly described Podonomus species outside the Andean-patagonian region in Argentina. Immatures and adults of these species were collected in a relatively low altitude (400 to 800 masl) for the genus. A key for the South American male adults and pupae of the decarthrus group is presented.
