Xanthonesandderivativesarenaturalactivecompoundswhoseinteresthasbeenincreasedduetoitsseveralpharmacologicaleffects.Inthiswork,effectsofhydroxy-xanthonesonthephysicochemicalpropertiesofdipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine(DPPC)liposomeshavebeeninvestigatedintermsoflipidbilayerfluidity,bymeansofmoleculardynamicssimulationsandtemperaturedependenceofzetapotentialstudies.Experimentalresultspredict,ingoodagreementwithsimulations,thatxanthonesareabletobeincorporatedintoDPPCliposomeswithcertainlocalization,fluidizingthebilayer.Botheffects,localizationandfluiditywerefoundtobedependentofthenumberofhydroxilicsubstituentsofthexanthoneandthelipidphaseXanthonesandderivativesarenaturalactivecompoundswhoseinteresthasbeenincreasedduetoitsseveralpharmacologicaleffects.Inthiswork,effectsofhydroxy-xanthonesonthephysicochemicalpropertiesofdipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine(DPPC)liposomeshavebeeninvestigatedintermsoflipidbilayerfluidity,bymeansofmoleculardynamicssimulationsandtemperaturedependenceofzetapotentialstudies.Experimentalresultspredict,ingoodagreementwithsimulations,thatxanthonesareabletobeincorporatedintoDPPCliposomeswithcertainlocalization,fluidizingthebilayer.Botheffects,localizationandfluiditywerefoundtobedependentofthenumberofhydroxilicsubstituentsofthexanthoneandthelipidpha
