Resumen:
The treatment of intracranial aneurysms with flow diverters is becoming more frequent betweenneuro-interventionists. Despite this, the effect of these new devices on the local hemodynamicsis not fully understood and contradictory clinical outcomes have been reported in the literature.Twenty-three intracranial aneurysms of different size and shape have been virtually treated andhemodynamic alterations after treatment have been analyzed using CFD. In general, the effect ofthe placement of the device was to considerably alter the flow inside the aneurysm and diminishits activity.
