Resumen:
The effect of Mg content in Ni(II)?Mg(II)?Al(III) layered double hydroxides (LDHs) over the composition and the catalytic performance in ethanol steam reforming (ESR) is studied. Ternary oxides were prepared by thermal decomposition of LDHs synthesized by homogeneous precipitation method with urea. The samples were characterized by sorptometry (SBET), H2 chemisorption, ICP chemical analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, temperature programming reduction and temperature programming oxidation after catalytic reaction. The catalyst with a molar ratio Mg/Ni = 0,33 showed the better performance in ESR (high activity and H2 yield). Carbon deposition diminishes when Mg content increases.
