Several products that were made with lead components are currently banned. However, incomprehensibly game meat hunted with lead bullets is consumed and exported all over the world without any restrictions or control for lead. The shot, which enters and spreads in the tissues of game animals, poses a threat to human’s and wildlife health. Here we highlight the need of changes in policies that allowed consumption and exportation of game meat hunted with lead bullets and we revive the international discussions on this problem.
