Resumen:
The colonization and peopling processes of new ecosystems usually result in changes of variable magnitude in human health. From this perspective, the paleopathological researches at a population scale are an important source of information which collaborates in the interpretation and reconstruction of migration and adaptive processes. In the case of Patagonia, several models of peopling have been proposed suggesting possible modes of dispersion of human populations. Independently of the model that could be accepted from the considered evidence, environmental and ecological conditions in Patagonia could be a human health change factor during the peopling process. Considering that, the purpose of this paper is to propose some possible effects of peopling of Patagonia in the health of human populations and to examine the resolution of the bioarchaeological record to study their impact.
