Resumen:
We present new results on an efcient fault-recovery strategy for the opticalMetropolitan network architecture studied in the WONDER Italian project. We describethe strategy and analyze its performance through simulation and theoretical results.The proposed algorithm is totally distributed among nodes, works at the physical levelonly and it is thus potentially very fast. We demonstrate that, using commercial opticalswitches with 1 ms switching time, the network can recover a fault in less than 50 msfor up to 32 nodes.
