Resumen:
An important aspect in the discovery of modern drugs is the preparation of libraries of compounds for this we start from original skeletons derived from natural products so that as a first activity the isolation of secondary metabolites such as iridoids, coumarins, stilbenes and naphthoquinones is carried out. The structures of natural products with appropriate functional groups allow chemical transformations and/or tandem reactions for the preparation of a large number of derivatives from a basic structure.Taking into account that our hypothesis is that certain natural products, derivatives and synthetic analogues of a non-nucleoside nature are potential inhibitors of the catalytic activity of enzymes related to DNA, which are important in carcinogenic processes. The ability of different chemical compounds to inhibit enzymes involved in DNA metabolism, such as DNA polymerases and human DNA topoisomerase I, is evaluated. Finally, biochemical, molecular and theoretical studies (docking and molecular dynamics) are carried out to try to clarify the inhibition mechanisms.
