Contribution to the knowledge of the diatom flora of the Salado River Basin (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina)

This paper deals with the diatomological flora of the Salado River and some associated shallow lakes (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina). We have identified 173 phycological entities among species and infraspecific taxa, with 15 new recods for Argentina which are described and illustrated. The principal physico-.chemical characteristics of the aquatic environments are mentioned.
