Abstract The analysis of solid sample is one of the more difficult area in analytical chemistry. Thus, sample preparation as itself is a real challenge for the UV-MALDI-MS experiments. The correct selection of the matrix, the method chosen for preparation of the analyte-matrix deposit are among others, the most critical step in the experiments. Recent results obtained in our laboratory during the analysis of synthetic polymers and sugars will be described and discussed.
