Resumen:
Fluorescence microscopy is the most extended imaging technique in cell biology.  Nevertheless,as a consequence of the diffraction limited resolution, an averaged behavior is obtained, and single molecule measurements are needed to achieve heterogeneity information. In this work,we aimed to label and study at single molecule level the type 1 corticotropin‐releasing hormone receptor (CRHR1).  We based our labeling strategy on the design of different aza-BODIPYs fluorophores that may behave as antagonist for CRHR1.  In order to choose the structures to be synthesized, docking studies were performed. Here we present the synthetic route, the photophysical and photochemical properties of aza‐BODIPYcompound 1.  We also show evidence of antagonist behavior of this compound, and a spatial distribution in HT22-CRHR1 cells obtained by STORM (super-resolution technique) that reflects specific binding to CRHR1.
