Resumen:
Members of the Pseudomonas genus colonize the rhizosphere of different plant species and display plant-probiotic traits. Therefore, they are interesting candidates for biological agricultural inputs to stimulate plant development and/or promote crop health. As members of a multidisciplinary consortium dedicated to study soil biology in relation to crop productivity under sustainable agricultural management (BIOSPAS), we aim to isolate and characterize plant-probiotic pseudomonads already adapted to local soil conditions. In particular, we focus on isolates able to inhibit the growth of emerging fungal pathogens recovered from extensive crops cultivated under no-till regime. To this end, about 100 isolates from soil and rhizosphere samples obtained on February 2010 were chosen by their differential growth aspect on the pseudomonads selective medium S1. A first screening was based on the qualitative antagonistic activity of each strain against 12 fungal pathogens isolated from roots and stems of crops obtained from the same plots where soil samples were taken?
