Resumen:
Actinorhizal plants are a group of Angiosperms able to form root nitrogen-fixing nodules in association with the soil actinomycete Frankia. The penetration of Frankia can follow an intracellular infection pathway in some species such as Casuarina glauca or an intercellular infection pathway in others like Discaria trinervis1. To compare the infection pathways at the molecular level we developed an efficient transformation protocol of D. trinervis based on Agrobacterium rhizogenes . Using this protocol three promoters that were shown to be are active during the intracellular infection of C. glauca by Frankia were introduced in D. trinervis: (1) the promoter of Cg12, a subtilase from C. glauca2; (2) the promoter of CgAux1, an auxin efflux transporter also from C. glauca3 and (3) the promoter of MtEnod11, an early nodulin from Medicago truncatula.
