Resumen:
Consideration of water problems with respect to drinking water supply and hygienic safety becomes more and more important even in some highly developed countries. In addition, electrochemical disinfection technologies are widely used in small- and middle-scale water treatment but without sufficient validation and certification. Against this background, systematic studies have been carried out focusing on electrode and reactor behaviour in product and by-product formation. Modelling of bipolar electrode stacks at technical scale belongs to these studies. Results on chlorine production at room temperature varying current density and flow rate are presented. First results on potential distribution over the stack are described.
