Optimization models for planning and scheduling in the carton board boxes industry

In this work we are presenting a cutting stock problem for the carton corrugated board boxes industry. The formulation considers the planning and scheduling of the corrugator machine where orders must be combined in cutting patterns. The objective function minimizes the trim loss and also the number of patterns to cut. Due to the high problem combinatory, a two step algorithm is chosen for planning and variables aggregation for the scheduling problem in order to execute the problems in short execution times. Results obtained in the execution of several examples are shown.
