Previous results from our group reveal that stimulation of astroglial mGlu3 receptors promotes the non?amyloidogenic cleavage of amyloid precursor protein. This action implies both increased neurotrophic sAPPa peptide levels and decreased Ab production. But anti-amyloid effects of glial mGlu3R are not restricted to the Ab synthesis pathway.
