Resumen:
New remains of the Jurassic Turtle Notoemys laticentralis Cattoi & Freiberg, 1961 from the Vaca Muerta Formation (Tithonian), Neuquén province, Argentina, represents the oldest find of a gondwanian Pleurodira. The skull and carapace of Notoemys are compraed with those of Chelidae and Pelomedusoides. A phylogenetic hypothesis is proposed for pre-Cretaceous Pleuridora whereby Notoemys is considered as the sister group of the Eupleurodira Gaffney & Meyland.
