Resumen:
We report a theoretical and experimental study on the role ofindistinguishability in the estimation of an interferometric phase.In particular, we show that the quantum Fisher Information,which is a witness of the quality of the phase estimation,increases linearly with respect to the degree ofindistinguishability between the input photons in a two-portinterferometer.We designed a setup to experimentally measure this result forthe case of two photons entering a polarization-basedinterferometer, where the degree of indistinguishability ischaracterized by the overlap between two spatial modes.Preliminary results are reported, as measurements are still beingperformed.
