Resumen:
The effects of an external magnetic field on the nuclear mediumare studied within the Skyrme model of the nuclear interaction.The equation of state, spin polarization, and magnetization areevaluated at zero temperature for both neutron matter and isospinsymmetric nuclear matter. We consider the anomalous magneticmoments of the nucleons and the quantization induced by a magneticfield over the proton energy spectrum. A comparison of twoversions of the model, allowing or not for spontaneousmagnetization, is performed. We cover a range of magnetic fieldstrengths and matter densities appropriate for astrophysicalstudies.
