Reanalysis of the LSND Neutrino Oscillation Experiment

We reanalyze the LSND results employing the Projected QRPA Approximation, which yields a considerable smaller inclusive 12C(nu_e, e)12N cross-section, than the Continuum Random Phase approximation, which has been used so far. The (sin2(theta),delta m^2) confidence level region obtained  in this way is quite narrow when compared with the one from the literature. Our result has only a very small overlap with that obtained in the nu_µ  -> nu_e analysis. The present study does not solve the LSND puzzle. Contrarily, it makes even more irreconcilable the agreement with other neutrinooscillation experiments.
