Recently, there has been much interest in the study of low-dimensional field theories. This is
due, in part, to amazing achievements in the material sciences that led to the fabrication of one-
dimensional semiconductors. One important tool for the theoretical description of these systems is
the Tomonaga-Luttinger model, which has been recently formulated as a 1 + 1 non-local Quantum
Field Theory [ C. Naón, C. von Reichenbach and M. Trobo, Nuclear Physics B 435 [FS] (1995)
567]. In this work we extend this formulation to the case in which left and right moving particles
have different velocities. In particular, we obtain an effective action describing the dynamics of the
collective excitations for this system and compute the corresponding dispersion relations for these
charge-density and spin-density waves.
