Characterizing d-dimensional quantum channels by means of quantum process tomography

Resumen:
In this work we propose a simple optical architecture,based on phase-only programmable spatial light modulators,in order to characterize general processes onphotonic spatial quantum systems in a d > 2 Hilbertspace. We demonstrate the full reconstruction of typicalnoises affecting quantum computing, as amplitudeshifts, phase shifts, and depolarizing channel in dimensiond = 5. We have also reconstructed simulated atmosphericturbulences affecting a free-space transmissionof qudits in dimension d = 4. In each case, quantumprocess tomography (QPT) was performed in order toobtain the matrix c that fully describe the correspondingquantum channel, E. Fidelities between the statesexperimentally obtained after go through the channeland the expected ones are above 97%.
