Resumen:
NF-kappa B activation has recently been shown to be necessary for long-term memory consolidation and reconsolidation, in theinhibitory avoidance learning in the mouse hippocampus. NF-kappa B is a transcription factor that is active in the cell nucleus in specifictemporal windows in both consolidation and reconsolidation. Previous results showed that the transcription factor is also present insynaptic terminals. This work focuses in the dynamics of its synaptic activation during consolidation, in two different synaptic localizations:soluble in the synaptic content and, in a pool described for the first time in this work, strongly associated to the cell membrane. The function ofthis novel localization is discussed.
