Resumen:
Crabs, lobsters and crayfish produce cardiac responses (bradycardia or cardiac arrest) to a variety of visual and tactile stimuli suggesting thatheart rate (HR) is a very sensitive physiological parameter in decapods. It is proposed as an bioassay of sensory perception inChasmagnathus granulatus. The intrinsic control of the HR is achieved through the cardiac ganglion, a model for pacemaking and centralpattern generation, while the inhibitory extrinsic control is proposed to be under GABAergic regulation.
