Resumen:
The present study aims to establish the influence of some chemical and physicochemical parameters - such as the degree of substitution, hydrophobicity, and electrical charge, among others - on the conformational and photophysical properties of dyes chemically bonded to polyelectrolytes. For this purpose, we performed the synthesis of macromolecules composed by some dye molecules of rhodamine B isotiocyanate (RITC) and the polyelectrolyte (polyallylamine hydrochloride (PAH ? 450 kD). Several studies, including classical (steady-state UV-absorption and emission) and advanced techniques (Single Molecule Fluorescence Microscopy and Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy), were used to characterize the synthesized material.
