Saving SpeciesThe purpose of this session is to focus on some key topical issues relating to species conservation that are relevant to the Partnership’s regional and global programmes. These include: new initiatives to promote, implement and coordinate conservation actions for threatened species; problems and solutions in bringing species back from the brink of extinctions through recovery projects; key threats to species and the approaches used to tackle them; and new approaches to fundraising for work on saving species. These issues address each of BirdLife’s three strategic objectives on species: Prevent Extinctions, Improve the Status of Globally Threatened Birds, and Keep Common Birds Common. The session will provide the opportunity for Partners to share experiences and lessons learned, raise awareness, celebrate successes, identify challenges and discuss potential solutions.
