Resumen:
Arsenic is a contaminant of natural or anthropogenic origin, harmful to human health that occursin water in a large area of our country with a value higher than the limit allowed by theWorld Health Organization (10 ppb). The aim of this work is the study of two commercial anionexchange resins (Diaion® WA30 and Amberlite PWA5) modified with Fe for the treatment ofcontaminated water and its implementation in domestic filters, designed taking into accountthe needs of the Progreso (Santa Fe) population. Fixation of iron nanoparticles is achieved byexchange reaction. The prepared samples were characterized by optical microscopy, electrontransmission microscopy and X-ray diffraction, observing a good distribution of iron insidethe spherical resin particle with formation of different oxides. Although this study continues indevelopment, the good effect of Fe on the PWA5 resin can be induced from these preliminaryresults.
