Resumen:
In the Bahía Ushuaia dark schists and sedimentaryrocks pertaining to the Yaghán Fm of the Lower Cretaceous crop out, and arestrongly deformed by Andean compresional tectonics of the UpperCretaceous. At least two tectonic phases with isoclinal folds andslaty cleavage, deformed by mesoscopic folds and a crenulationcleavage affect the rocks. This unit hosts an alkaline pluton, composedof basic to acid terms, dominated by monzonite-syenite rocksenclosing ultrabasic enclaves. The aereomagnetic survey and magneticmeasurements integrated with the geological information permittedto model a N-S cross section through the area.
