Resumen:
Several oligotrophic lakes in the Southern Andes receive inputs of glacial flour. In particular, Mascardi Lake has marked gradient in glacial inputs with opaque, whitish water in its eastern arm. This condition also varies seasonally since the summer ice melt results in higher solids concentration during January and February, white during the winter minimum solids concentrations are observed (Iriondo, 1974). In this study, we will analyze temperature, suspended solids and chlorophyll a (Chl. a) and light distributions along the lake gradient in a summer sampling.
