Resumen:
Plants are able to defend themselves against attack by a variety of potential pathogens through the deployment of both constitutive and induced defenses. To cause disease, a successful pathogen must suppress these plant defense responses. The suppression of innate immuneresponses is an area of substantial current interest in both plant and animal pathology. The intimate relationship between eukaryotes and microbial pathogens has led to the co-evolution of a number of complex strategies for attack and defense. For a pathogen to colonize a host successfully, it must develop mechanisms either to escape detection or, failing that, to subvert the defense responses. This review highlights our knowledge in the suppression mechanisms of plant immune responses.
