C.2, Rodrigues Capítulo, A.2 and Tangorra, M.1 1 CIC, 2 CONICET   A total of 220 water samples were collected in 27 sampling sites distributed in streams and rivers from pampean area during three years. Conductivity, pH, turbidity, DO and temperature were meassured in the field. The samples were analized for concentration of major ions, nutrients, BOD and COD. Macroinvertebrates, phytoplankton and benthic diatoms were assessed. Additional environmental data, land use and geological data also were analized. Multivariate analysis was applied to this data set. This analysis became aware to identificate five status in the studied lotic systems, being the human activity the principal factor in the ecological quality determination.
