Resumen:
Polydopamine (PDA) obtained through an ammonia-triggered polymerization of dopamine is used to coat mesoporous silica nanoparticles, and subsequently the inorganic core is readily removed by dispersion in water. This innovative approach allows for the successful fabrication of novel drug nanocarriers with enhanced biocompatibilities that avoid later bio-contamination of silica nanoparticles.
