Resumen:
We present measurements and simulations of the electrolyte concentrationfield and fluid motion during quasi-two-dimensional electrochemicaldeposition. Our results demonstrate that the concentration boundary layerswhich develop near the electrodes coincide with gravity-driven convectionrolls, and that the two evolve together. Prior to the appearance of roughgrowth, the concentration fronts are parallel to the electrodes. Afterbranching develops, the concentration front and the corresponding convectionroll become slaved to growth of the deposit, with the distance between thebranches and the concentration front remaining constant.
