Resumen:
Abstract: Previous references to the late Paleocene of the La Barca Formation in Cabo Leticia and Punta Ainol, Atlantic coast of Tierra del Fuego, Argentina were based on benthic calcareous foraminifera and dinocysts. New samples from Punta Ainol provided calcareous nannofossils that correlate with late Paleocene-early Eocene assemblages in the Southern Hemisphere, spanning the nannofossil zones NP9 (CNP11/CNE1) or the subzones NP9a/NP9b. The Paleocene/Eocene boundary in the La Barca Formation at Punta Ainol is placed between the last occurrences of Fasciculithus richardii group and F. alanii, and the first occurrence of Romboaster sp. cf. R. cuspis.
