Resumen:
The Rio de la Plata grasslands are the largest complexes of temperate grasslands ecosystems in South America, comprising an area of approximately 750,000 km2 (Soriano et al. 1992). These grasslands include the Pampas ecoregion of Argentina (540,000 km2) and the Campos ecoregion of Uruguay, northeastern Argentina and southern Brazil (Miñarro and Bilenca 2008).
