Resumen:
The main pear growing area in Argentina is situated in Northpatagonian region.During postharvest storage in cold (-1/0°C), important economical losses occur because of the development of blue and grey molds caused by Penicillium expansum and Botrytis cinerea. In that condition, selected criotolerant yeasts are promising biocontrol agents as they grow and colonize rapidly the surface and microwounds. The objectives of this work were to obtain yeasts with antagonistic activity against postharvest pathogens from pear stored at low temperature, by means of a new improved isolation and selection methodology.
