Resumen:
Thepresent paper deals with the development of a numerical approach topredict thermal creep in pressure tubes of CANDU nuclear powerreactors. This phenomenon plays a crucial role under accidentalconditions, where the core can reach high temperatures and thepressure tubes would experiment thermal creep with large radialdeformation usually named "Ballonning". The ?Ballonning?deformation can occur under accidental conditions such as theStation Black-out event, where the primary circuit is subjected tohigh pressure and temperature. Due to the simulation of Ballonningrepresents a difficult issue from the mathematical point of view, an"initial strain" strategy was adopted into the OpenFOAMbackground. In this paper, a methodology to verify the deformation ofthe pressure tubes is analyzed using a three-dimensional model fedwith thermal-hydraulic data obtained with RELAP system code. Theobjective of this study is to accurately predict the contact of thepressure tubes with the Calandria tubes. p { text-indent: 0.5cm; margin-bottom: 0.25cm; direction: ltr; color: #000000; line-height: 120%; text-align: justify; orphans: 0; widows: 0 }p.western { font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt; so-language: es-AR }p.cjk { font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12pt; so-language: es-ES }p.ctl { font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12pt; so-language: ar-SA }a:link { color: #0000ff }
