Resumen:
The Levipustulini brachiopod Verchojania Abramov, guide fossil in the Upper Carboniferous-Lowermost Permian of northeastern Siberia, is reported for the first time from the Southern Hemisphere. Verchojania inacayali sp. nov. and Verchojania archboldi sp. nov. (formerly Levipustula levis Maxwell) are described from the upper section of the Pampa de Tepuel Formation, Chubut Province (Patagonia), Argentina. The age of the older Patagonian species V. inacayali sp. nov. is estimated as Middle-Late Pennsylvanian (Moscovian-Kasimovian), while a no younger than early Early Cisuralian (Asselian) for the younger V. archboldi sp. nov. is considered possible.
