Resumen:
Today, everyone recognizes (but not everyone willingly accepts) the great social changes that have taken place in the world. One of them is the greater diversity of languages, cultures, nationalities and religions within nation-states, which threatens social and personal identities. Migrations are one of the causes of cultural diversity. Development of composite cultural expressions and cultural fusions transcending the frontiers of multicultural societies is a recurrent theme . There is a special path for resistance the antagonisms faced by immigrants that is grounded on new forms of collective identity that amalgamate various cultural features, therefore resulting in new cultural configurations. These emerging innovations, as well as a multiplicity of identities, illustrate the diversity of contemporary multicultural society and its potential for change - but also its inner tensions. Therefore counterhegemonic social critics of the increasing discrimination in society are arising. Consciousness of a shared position of subordination in society is confronted by new and growing social movements against racism and re-enforced ethnic boundaries.
