Resumen:
Stenocyphus Marshall 1922, includes three species, the type species S. bituberosus (Gyllenhall 1833); S. tuberculatus (Hustache 1938), herein transferred from Neoericydeus Hustache; and S. sextuberosus new species. The genus is endemic to the Atlantic forests of the states of Espirito Santo, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil. Stenocyphus Marshall (Curculionidae: Entiminae: Naupactini) shares several external morphological characters with the Brazilian genus Cyrtomon Schoenherr 1823 and is mainly characterized by the presence of large conical tubercles on the elytral intervals 5, or 3 and 5, or 3, 5 and 7. Herein we provide a diagnostic key, descriptions or redescriptions of the genus and all its species, habitus photographs, line drawings of genitalia, and a discussion of the patterns of elytral tubercles in unrelated genera of Neotropical broad-nosed weevils.
