Resumen:
ABSTRACT - An specimen represented by a plastron almost complete and perfectly preserved,  of 56 cm of length x 22,5 cm of wide is herein described. This is the first record of a bid sized Geochelone denticulata for the Late Pleistocene of the Argentinean Mesopotamia, at least 800 kilometers south from its southernmost extant distribution. We determinate the specie based on the presence of a small inguinal scale and the presence of an anal notch separating the anal scales, a characteristic of G. denticulata tortoises. Paleobiogeographic and paleoenvironmental inferences for the mammalian fauna that inhabited the southwest Mesopotamian region at Entre Rios Province, where the finding locality of G. denticulata, are congruent with a subtropical climate dominated by temperate to warm and humid interglacial conditions.
