Resumen:
ABSTRACT.We study homogeneous and monotone functions in the standard positive cone of R^n,in order to show the generalised Perron?Frobenius theorem that guarantees theexistence of a positive eigenvector (Gaubert and Gunawardena, 2003). Weintroduce a slight generalization of power-bounded below functions (Nussbaum,1986) and we prove, in this case, the uniqueness of the eigenvector andconvergence in the Hilbert metric. The developed concepts are interpreted inthe context of population dynamics and are applied to a family of functionsconstructed under addition and composition of power means.
