Resumen:
This paper examines the phonological dynamic synchrony of 36 toba speakers -Guaycurú family- from 6 different communities in the Argentine provinces Chaco and Formosa. The analysis of the sociolinguistic situation shows that the variables ?age? and ?place of residence? influence the dynamics of the phonological system which depicts two main changes: increasingly weak oppositions between the post-palatal phonemes, and great instability of /w/ and /r/ for their variants; both phenomena deeply influenced by the Spanish phonological system spoken in the region.
