Resumen:
The aggressive interactions between primates that live in social groups vary in form and intensity according to the species, social, organization, and habitat type. We reported direct physical aggressions between Alouatta caraya males in fragments forests in northern Argentina. We argued that observed agonistic interactions were caused principally by the expression of intrasexual competition and feeding sites. We suggest that these kinds of aggression increased in frequency as a direct consequence of the progressive deforestation in the area.
